Our missions

One of the Agency's essential roles consists in monitoring the correct use of frequencies. It spends a great deal of material and human resources on this activity.

To carry out this mission, the ANFR takes occasional action during "major events", planning and coordinating the use of frequencies, checking the conformity of radio equipment, and monitoring the spectrum. These interventions can be requested by government bodies or private organisations under specific agreements.

These major events, in particular sports events, result in the intensive use of temporary frequencies by the media, the organisers and private security services.
