Regional services in mainland France

The Agency’s headquarters are based in Maisons-Alfort.
The Agency is composed of:

  • 4 regional departments, 1 inter-regional department and a branch office (Boulogne S/Mer) in mainland France;
  • An International Control Centre (ICC) in Rambouillet;
  • 2 specialised technical centres in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and Brest;

Overseas branches

The ANFR has several branches in the French overseas territories:

  • in New Caledonia for that territory and Wallis and Futuna;
  • in Martinique, which covers the West Indies and French Guiana: Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy;
  • in Réunion for the Indian Ocean zone: Reunion, Mayotte, Antarctic and Austral Lands;
  • and in French Polynesia.

The ANFR also carries out spot checks in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon. In New Caledonia and French Polynesia, the ANFR branches carry out their own missions and also carry out, by delegation and under agreement, a number of missions falling within the remit of the State, mainly for the Haut-Commissariat à la République (HCR) and the State and Territory Maritime Affairs (MER).
