The Directorate of Spectrum Planning and International Affairs (DPSAI) prepares the allocation of frequencies, carries out studies of electromagnetic compatibility studies and contributes to drawing up engineering regulations for effective use of these resources. It carries out forward analyses of the frequency spectrum with the aim of optimum utilisation. It undertakes actions associated with institutional cooperation. It analyses the economic challenges in the spectrum and periodically revises frequency allocations and sharing. It assesses the cost of operations to reconfigure the spectrum, ensures that these are implemented and manages the corresponding appropriations. It coordinates national participation in international and European bodies on matters concerning frequencies and prepares the distribution of frequency bands between categories of services in this context, and between governments and assigning authorities. It is responsible for the international coordination of frequencies for satellite systems.
